Hi there, thanks for visiting site. I decided to do this subject as I'm fascinated by the way the doctors at the turn of the century interpret the varying deformities which they come across, and in turn, the ways that they cope and deal with them (the surgery they performed was amazing when you take time to think that this was all being done more than a hundred years ago). The section concerning Joseph Merrick was originally just the one page, but through the following months grew to be the size it is as I found more and more information on the subject. And also I found out that the bulk of my visitors came for info on this poor chap so I though it my duty to find out more.

 The other reason is simply that I love the strange and bizarre. I haven't got many recent pictures of deformities, freaks or unfortunates if you prefer, so please send me some I would be very grateful (things such as wolf boys, bearded women etc. you know the kind of stuff!) and I will post them on my site with a very big thank you.
